SHIFTING

“Shifting” means change – a constant rearrangement of form, space, and perception. This project explores how this principle can be represented visually and typographically. Whether it is the movement of a game piece or the tectonic motion of the earth, shifting occurs everywhere. Several short animations were created in Adobe After Effects in which shapes, colors, and type interact, overlap, and rearrange themselves. In this way, movement itself becomes a design tool and an experiment in rhythm, dynamics, and visual tension.
